Crosman Quest 1000x Air Rifle scope trouble please help?

I bought a Crosman Quest 100x Pellet rifle and found that the open sights were very accurate but the scope was a worthless piece of crap! (on the pellet rifle only though)
now i know it can be sighted in because i used the scope from the quest on my ruger 10/22 and with that combo have massacred the squirrel population around here, but it wont sight in on the quest what do i do?
my questions are:
is there a tips or tricks you might have on sighting in scopes that have given you trouble
and
is there any thing you would add.

You may need to use a scope stop. >From what you describe, this is probably your problem.

When I sight-in a springer, I do so over a tightly rolled up towel, rather than a solid rest.
