Cany anyone tell me if a Mauser K98 Sniper Scope will fit on a Model 1909 Argentine Mauser?

I have a Model 1909 Argentine Mauser and I was wondering if the reproduction sniper scopes and mounts for the K98 Mauser would fit on the 1909 Mauser since they are the same basic rifle just different lengths.

Both the Mauser K98 and the Argentine 09 are what's called "Large Ring, Long Action" Mausers. In theory, the scope mounts and scope would be located in the same positions on the receiver. I have however seen variances that can throw off some sized components, however.

Is the base a one-piece, or is it two separate bases? If it's a two piece base, your gunsmith should be able to make them fit with no problems. There will need to be holes drilled in the receiver, which will destroy most any historical collector's interest in the rifle. If it is a unmolested and nice condition Argentine 09, I would advise keeping it intact and finding another receiver on which to build a custom Mauser.

Note: There are some major things to consider here. First, the repro German scope is not exactly a quality modern hunting scope. Are you building a hunter, or a reproduction......what? Putting a German scope on an Argentine Mauser is not exactly reproducing anything historic.

Next, if I recall, the Argy 1909 had a straight bolt. It will not work with that scope, or just about any scope without changing the bolt handle or having a machinist modify that bolt. Again, additional cost and also destroys any collector value to the rifle.
