I wore a tight ring and now my finger has a blue spot?

I wore a ring but I didn't notice that is was tight until I took it off. Now, I have a bluish greenish spot around my finger, right where the ring was. It doesn't hurt, but does anyone know why this happened, when it will heal, and if my finger is going to be ok? Any advice?

its probably a bruise...
like you said... it was a tight ring... and so the tightness of the ring probably broke some superficial (surface) blood vessels...
it's nothing serious to worry about... it should heal in a couple of days to a week...
