I have a pair of RCR speakers and one works great and one is now very scratchy. Can I fix it?

I took the cover off and pushed on the cone gently. It felt like it was rubbing on something. I then removed the speaker form the mount to see if it was rubbing on anything. It was not so I turned it on and then pushed on the underside cone wile it was playing and then it made it sound pertty good. Can I fix it at home ir do I need to take it in to get it fixed? Replace it?

If you are pushing on one side of the cone, it will move it enough to change the voice coil position, and it will sound as if it is rubbing. To hand check, you need to push equally positioned and weighted around the dust cap. However, it sounds as if you have a warped speaker. Sometimes they can be warped back by tightening the mounting screws on one side and barely so on the other side, or sticking something underneath to raise one side and not the other. That is only if you've led an exemplary and altruistic existence. It never worked for me.

If it has been over-driven, that kind of warping is not uncommon. If that is the case, a re-cone is in order, if the driver is worth fixing. A speaker repair place can assist you with that.
