Light Kit
Installing light kit to ceiling fan. Fan works, light kit doesn't. What could be going wrong?

I had ceiling fan installed and I am trying to attach light kit to it. After attaching black-to-black and white-to-white, I tried operating light pull-chain. It does not work. Fan is still working. Can somebody suggest step-by-step method to trouble shoot the problem?
Chicagirl, I have also connected the blue wire to the black wires. Still Light kit does not work.

In some light kits besides connecting the blue (light wire) to the black (hot wire), you also have to plug in a connection between the two devices. Usually it's a two prong small plug in the gob of wires between the light kit and fan. Remove the ligh kit and see if you can find wires that will only fit male to female and female to male. Sounds like a dumb answer, but is a common mistake.

UPDATE:

Never heard back from this guy. must still live under the bridge with no lights.
