How do I wire an electronic (T8) ballast? It has 2 blue wires, but only red wire.?
I am replacing a T12 ballast with a T8 instant start, and it is wired differently.
I can't figure out where to hookup the red wire. I have the wrong types of sockets, but I was able to connect the two pins together on each socket using a small wire connected between them. But now I can't figure out how to connect the ballast to the sockets. The diagram /instructions are vague.
No one is answering my question about how to wire it.
Everything I've read said that you can use T8 lamps in T12 fixtures, just change the lamps. I just need to know how to wire the new ballast!
I bought a ballast for the correct number of lamps (2) and the correct size (4') for the fixture that I have.
The single red wire on the ballast connects to both of the red wires to the lamps. Same with the yellows. The lamp holders need not be changed. There is no problem at all converting from T12 to T8. Just change the ballast and the bulbs. The other guy is full of baloney. Email if you need more help.
