Trouble with binoculars?

Just pulled mine out of long term storage. Great field set. Used them as a FAC. Problem:Some of the black rubber parts have become stickey and leave black marks on my hands. Luckily it is not the whole, just certain components.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make it not stickey?

Give the rubber parts a dusting with chalk powder or talcum powder, although this will not cure the problem, it will make them usable. I would contact the makers and ask if they will supply new rubbers.
